I recently spent 3 weeks in Thailand, (Bangkok, Pattaya, Sri Racha, Phu Khieo) I asked this question because i seen next to no other ‘farang’ in the out of the way places i went to, just wondering if anyone else can share some information on their experiances with me.
Thanks for the great answers guys, i now understand why i didn’t see any farangs when i was in Chaiyaphum province, i really envy those guys living there.

Sure Chonburi has some farang - mainly people living in the Pattaya and surounding areas, but I think in general most farang who stay in Chaiyapum (I never went there) or other up-country places are basically living with there girlfriend/wives families in really low cost setting.

In the up-country places like Chaiyapum (Isan, etc.) I assume these few farangs that live in the other areas prefer to stay ‘really localized’ and not deal with other farangs because they prefer the ‘real thai culture’ of these up country places. If they get lonely they can easily visit Bangkok.

is the rain and humidity hurts a lot?
Is ther any chance to have some sunny sea by that period?(Agust 1st week)

When it rains in Thailand, it rains hard and briefly, so there are always sunny periods in between. Besides, it’s the low season so everything is cheaper, it’s less crowded, and it’s cooler. Have a good trip. B

August 16th, I have a chance to go visit Pattaya, for travel and leisuring of course. I decided to take one pal with me: Animated Bumblebee; otherwise this very trip of mine would be lame. We visit Pattaya palace mountain, Wat Yannasangwararam Waramahavihara of Thailand’s patriach, little stop at Cheejan hill with amazingly new-way created Buddha image by the hill, and finally freestyle at Jomtien beach and back.
Bumblebee might can be sick of real sea & sand if not in Animated cartoon…

This is one of several videos that I made during a holiday in Pattaya, Thailand in November 2008. The holiday, the name of which I forget, is a celebration of the end of the Raining Season. It involves putting small hand-held boats into the water within either the grounds of a Buddhist temple or into the ocean along a beach depending on which of my videos you are watching. The festival takes place at night and fireworks are also involved.
